JANE MADISON Owner/Co-Director

Ms Madison is a native of the Chicago area. A graduate of Stephens College, Columbia, Missouri, Jane also studied dance at The Banff Centre School of Fine Arts in Banff, Alberta, Canada. She is a member of several professional dance education organizations, and regularly attends teacher workshops including The American Academy of Ballet’s Summer Workshop of Excellence and the International Ballet Competition’s Teacher Workshop with David Howard, Roni Mahler, and pianist Steven Mitchell. Each year, Jane travels to Chicago, New York City, or Denver, for creative inspiration and to research the latest in choreography and dance design. A dance educator since 1972, she founded the Madison Studio in Macon in 1984, and in 2014, celebrated her thirty years of dance in Macon with MSDE Alums, current students, Faculty, dance parents, and and was presented The Mayor's Proclamation Certificate. Jane enjoys working with students at every level of expertise – from the beginner to the trained dancer preparing for college study as a dance major or minor, or for a career in dance. She was the recipient of The Macon Arts Alliance Cultural Award for 2014, and was a Celebrity Judge for the Central Georgia Alzheimer's Association Dancing with the Stars in 2015. She is proud to have trained dancers who have gone on to become dance majors, minors, professional dancers, studio owners, teachers, choreographers, theatre and Broadway artists. FAITH MADISON HOLTON

Faith began her dance education as a 3-year-old at MSDE, and during her fifteen years of ballet training earned several awards and scholarships for such prestigious programs as the American Academy of Ballet, Youth America Grand Prix, and Joffrey Ballet South. She continued her studies during summer intensives at AAB - Vassar College, AAB - SUNY Purchase, Joffrey South, Atlanta Festival Ballet and MSDE. She also studied privately under the tutelage of Valerie Madonia and Nicolas Pacana. Immediately after graduation in 2008 from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon, she was invited to join Colorado Ballet as a Studio Company member, and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2010. As a company member she performed in Swan Lake, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, A MidSummer Night's Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Beauty and the Beast, and Michael Pink's Dracula, as well as Lila York's Celts and Lynn Taylor Corbett's Great Galloping Gottschalk. While with Colorado Ballet she had the honor of teaching in their Education and Outreach Department, extending the arts scene to the school children of Denver. In January 2012, Ms. Madison was Ballet Mistress for The Denver Academy of Ballet, teaching over 100 students and coaching an award-winning group for YAGP, the prestigious scholarship competition for aspiring dancers. From 2013-2016, she was Project Manager for Pure September, LLC, where she trained and evaluated teachers, and managed seven Pure Barre studios in the Greater Chicagoland area. She is a graduate of Saint Mary's College of California's LEAP program, with a Bachelor of Arts in performing arts. Ms. Madison is also on faculty for Colorado Ballet's Summer Intensive and acts as an audition adjudicating for said program on the National Audition Tour. SAVANNA COTTLE

Savanna Cottle is a Macon native and a MSDE alumni where she started her dance education with Jane Madison at age 5. Savanna holds a Studio Art degree from Georgia College & State University where she also completed a Dance Minor under the direction of Ameila Pelton and advisor, Natalie King-Crews. While in the program her choreography and research was presented to the American College Dance Association Southeastern conference for their adjudication process and concert. The summer after completing her undergraduate degree she was accepted to the Staibdance Summer Program in Sorrento, Italy where she was able to study contemporary dance techniques such as Countertechnique, Gaga and Batsheva repertoire, as well she was given the privilege to study under teachers from around the world, a few included George Staib, TLang Dance, and Gavriel Spitzer. Savanna’s goal as a dance educator is to engage students in a learning process that they will enjoy and love so that they continue to learn and grow in the art of Dance. She is currently the Dance Teacher at Baldwin High School in Milledgeville, GA. Savanna is very excited to be joining the MSDE Faculty teaching Contemporary Dance!

JESSICA HARDMAN

Jessica Burgos Hardman has 18 years of experience teaching Dance and Yoga in the Middle Georgia area. She began dancing at age 4 and earned a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Southern Mississippi, where she also began her yoga practice. Specializing in Modern dance, she is also responsible for teaching Pre-Dance, Levels 1-3, is an Ensemble Team Teacher, and has taught Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, and Stretch/Conditioning/Yoga for MSDE. Additionally, she has multiple Yoga certifications from the Athletics and Fitness Association of America, Silver Sneakers, Vita Prana Aerial Yoga and has taught numerous classes for Wesleyan College, The Wellness Center, Mercer University, Sparks Yoga, and Idle Hour Country Club. By blending her knowledge of multiple disciplines, Jessica loves to teach her students how to move with more freedom, creativity, joy, awareness, and ease.

SYDNEY KING

Sydney King is a Miami, Florida native who lives and breathes the arts! Sydney is currently a senior at Wesleyan College in Macon, Ga, and has been an arts instructor since 2014. With extensive training in dance, voice, and theatre, she uses all of these art forms to support one another in her classes. Her goal as an instructor is to make sure that all the students she teaches have FUN and leave her having learned more about their art, professionalism, and creativity.

REBECCA SHETLER

Rebecca Shetler is a Macon native and MSDE alumni. Rebecca graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Georgia Tech and currently works at the Northway Church as the Kids Ministry Assistant. She has performed with The Madison Studio in many productions including Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Swan Lake, and more. Her favorite styles of dance are ballet, tap, and contemporary. Her goal as an instructor is for students to find joy and excitement in dance while also learning the foundations of proper technique. She hopes that each student will feel loved, encouraged, and confident. Rebecca is so excited to be a part of the MSDE family in a new way, teaching Level 2 this year.
